Shopping can become a much more pleasant experience at the beaches of Goa. Dona Paula is one such place where numerous shops are located along the beachside, selling variety of goods ranging from eatables to clothes. Fishermen turned to local vendors also sell straw hats, lace handkerchiefs, and spices in these shops. Feni and port wine, which are the two Goa’s liquor specialties are a must buy and local liquor is easily available.

Baga Beach - Baga beach of Goa offers the perfect escape for those looking for peace and quiet unlike the larger beaches in Goa.Essentially, Baga is a fishing beach and it’s russet sands are now a top draw among tourists for sun-bathing and water sports. The Baga river flows along one side of the beach, which drops sharply to the water. Fishing canoes make use of the good boat launching conditions and now-a-days provide rides to travelers too.

Crocodile and dolphin spotting down the backwaters of the Mandovi and Zuari Rivers is a substitute attraction for visitors to Baga beach. The banks of these rivers are enclosed with mangrove trees, inhabited by crocodiles in these swampy regions. Dolphins can be marked at the mouth of the Mandovi River.

Besides this, Baga’s nightlife is one of the liveliest in Goa and is the perfect expression of the Goa and Western mix of culture. Live music and a free flow of booze makes the beaches very attractive to youngsters. The tattoo shops and massages bars offering Ayurvedic body and foot massages are quite popular with the foreigners.

Anjuna beach - Taking long walks under the moon on the silver sands of this beach is something that any travelers would love to do at Anjuna, beside the favorite pastime of watching the sun going down. It has an amazing lays of rocks, spread across the white sand near the sea. This spot was known as the Jewel of Anjuna and called ‘Ozran’.

At the north of the Anjuna, is it’s famous flea market where small cafes, bars and Kashmiri handicrafts stalls are lined. Something and everything under the sky can be found here. It’s famous for its electric items that are on sale. Flea market is held on Wednesday and if you are good at bargaining, then you can walk away with good stuff at throw away prices.

Anjuna is also well-known for the full-moon parties that are held here for young tourists particularly during Christmas and happy new year. Campfires burn bright all through the night and the music and cheerfulness carries on till the morning. The music and the powerful sound systems keep the people stay on in the beach for long time.

The excitement of Bungee Jumping from an 80-ft tower and water-sports facilities like paragliding and windsurfing enhance the fun at Anjuna.

Travel tips to enjoy carefully holidays

  • Get a map of the destination you are planning to visit & mark down where you want to go.
  • Email yourself a copy of all important information: airline numbers, credit card & phone numbers, driving license numbers and your itinerary.
  • Find out how much luggage you are allowed to take if your are traveling by air. Travel light. You will need the space for all the new things you will buy.
  • Pack a medical kit with all necessary tablets- headache, flu & stomach.
  • Never take the weather for granted. Get a feel of the climate at your holiday destination and pack your gear accordingly.
  • Arrange for any special dietary requirements with your airline or hotel will in advance.
  • Use re-sealable food bags to put toiletries it will save your clothes from any spillages.
  • Inform someone about your trip and tell them to await your call on safe arrival.
  • It is always sager to get your resort\Hotel to arrange your local transport.
  • When traveling with kids, always have enough to snack and drink. Do not accept any favors from strangers.
  • If you are arriving at your destination late at night, pack your pyjamas on the top to avoid ransacking the luggage to find them.
  • Use\Hire assistance of guides who are government authorized or known to the hotel\resort where you stay.
  • Know your camera. Else you could miss the shot of your loved ones catching a wave.
