A must visit is the 2nd longest beach in the world, Marina Beach. Do’t miss the unbelievable joyride along vast stretches of sand lashed by the Bay of Bengal. Your beach holiday is South India wob't be complete without visiting the beaches of Tamil Nadu, India's last coastal destination for rides on motorized boat or wind surfing etc.

Marina Beach, Chennai

Although it’s debatable to call it the 2nd longest beach in the world, Marina is surely one of the longest beaches in the continent (13 KM). Its a sandy beach unlike other stony beaches in the west coast.

A well-known characteristic of the beach is the set of stone statues that adorn the roadside area of the beach. Most statues are of Indian/local legends like Mahatma Gandhi, Kannagi, Thiruvalluvar, while others have symbolic importance like the Statue of Labour.

Close to the Marina beach is the aquarium, which has some of the most interesting collection of tropical sea fishes and fresh water fishes. Marina beach is a most important tourist attraction. The beach is popular for it’s shopsand food stalls.

Anjuna Beach
Baga Beach
Calangute Beach
Dona Paula Beach

Goa Tours - Staying at the Beach Capital of India. With more than half a dozen beaches in the top 10 beaches in India, Goa needs no introduction for a visitor. But there are some other virgin, beautiful beaches across the country. India has one of the most excellent collection of beaches in the world. With towering temperatures in summers across India, they are not only the favorite destinations for international tourists; but also the favorite picnic spot for local weekend tourists.

Dona Paula Beach - At the place where two of Goa's well-known rivers meet the Arabian Sea is the secluded bay of Dona Paula with a fine view of the Marmagoa harbour.Named after Dona Paula de Menezes, the Dona Paula beach is commonly known as the "Lovers Paradise" due to a myth that has been attached to this place. According to one myth the Viceroy's daughter after facing objections from her family about her love affair with a poor fisherman jumped of the cliff. The Dona Paula Beach offers an opportunity to the travelers to have a sunbath and enjoy water scootering and motar boat rides.
Shopping can become a much more pleasant experience at the beaches of Goa. Dona Paula is one such place where numerous shops are located along the beachside, selling variety of goods ranging from eatables to clothes. Fishermen turned to local vendors also sell straw hats, lace handkerchiefs, and spices in these shops. Feni and port wine, which are the two Goa’s liquor specialties are a must buy and local liquor is easily available.

Baga Beach - Baga beach of Goa offers the perfect escape for those looking for peace and quiet unlike the larger beaches in Goa.Essentially, Baga is a fishing beach and it’s russet sands are now a top draw among tourists for sun-bathing and water sports. The Baga river flows along one side of the beach, which drops sharply to the water. Fishing canoes make use of the good boat launching conditions and now-a-days provide rides to travelers too.

Crocodile and dolphin spotting down the backwaters of the Mandovi and Zuari Rivers is a substitute attraction for visitors to Baga beach. The banks of these rivers are enclosed with mangrove trees, inhabited by crocodiles in these swampy regions. Dolphins can be marked at the mouth of the Mandovi River.

Besides this, Baga's nightlife is one of the liveliest in Goa and is the perfect expression of the Goa and Western mix of culture. Live music and a free flow of booze makes the beaches very attractive to youngsters. The tattoo shops and massages bars offering Ayurvedic body and foot massages are quite popular with the foreigners.

Anjuna beach - Taking long walks under the moon on the silver sands of this beach is something that any travelers would love to do at Anjuna, beside the favorite pastime of watching the sun going down. It has an amazing lays of rocks, spread across the white sand near the sea. This spot was known as the Jewel of Anjuna and called 'Ozran'.

At the north of the Anjuna, is it’s famous flea market where small cafes, bars and Kashmiri handicrafts stalls are lined. Something and everything under the sky can be found here. It’s famous for its electric items that are on sale. Flea market is held on Wednesday and if you are good at bargaining, then you can walk away with good stuff at throw away prices.

Anjuna is also well-known for the full-moon parties that are held here for young tourists particularly during Christmas and happy new year. Campfires burn bright all through the night and the music and cheerfulness carries on till the morning. The music and the powerful sound systems keep the people stay on in the beach for long time.

The excitement of Bungee Jumping from an 80-ft tower and water-sports facilities like paragliding and windsurfing enhance the fun at Anjuna.
